I love the little wood letters that people hang on their baby's wall that spell out the baby's name. I priced these wood letters at Walmart. They are almost $4 each. That doesn't sound like such a bad price. But if you factor in the fact that I would need 9 letters and would still have to buy the paint, that is a lot of money. So I decided to get creative! I tested out a few different ideas and with my husband's help, this is what I finally decided on. I spent less than half the amount I would have spent on the wood blocks and I actually like it a lot more. I would have spent even less than I did if I wouldn't have been so stuck on the idea that I wanted to use those 3 colors. Only a few pieces of each color come in a pack of foam, so I ended up having to buy 3 packs in order to have enough for her name. It still ended up being much cheaper and I have lots of left over foam to do other things with.

Very crafty! Did you use a die cut machine or buy the letters? Beautiful baby name too!
ReplyDeleteActually, I typed the letters in Word and chose the font I thought would be best. Then I printed them and traced them on the foam. The tracing was the most time consuming part, but well worth it to me because it saved a lot of money.
